HISTORY: DEC/20/09

I am pleased to announce the arrival of the new lindanisbett.com website. Launched 11 days prior to its expected release so I couldn't be more thrilled.

This new site has been designed for a faster loading experience and will soon be available for viewing on mobile in the early New Year.

The resources page will be launched in March 2010, and everything located on this page is free to use for personal and/or non-commercial projects unless other-wise stated.

My only request is that materials marked with my logo remain marked, and that all links tracking back to this site remain intact.

About the designer...

Linda NisbettHi, name is Linda Nisbett and I'm a web designer / front-end developer living in the region of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I selected this career because I carry a passion for the arts, music and technology.

Some of my other hobbies and interests include swimming, skating, cross country skiing, going to the beach, poetry, sketching, painting, writing short stories, camping, and more recently an unexpected interest in roller-coasters.

I attend user groups and conferences such as the Microsoft Silverlight User Group when time permits to expand my knowledge in other areas of the web. Since being in attendance, I've learned about the many features Expression Blend combined with learning a bit about XAML and its functions.

In the summer of 2009 and 2010, I was provided the opportunity to volunteer for FITC Toronto as a Stage Manager. I found this experience very rewarding as I was able to meet many of the leaders in the media industry who shared their experiences, challenges, and inspirations.

This industry is exhilarating for me because it has unlimited growth potential as designers and developers work together pushing the limits of technology. Who would have thought that 20 years ago we would be where we are today.

Some of my life time goals include becoming a CSS GURU like veteran Molly Holzschlag, an award winning designer for some of my personal entries, and to expand my knowledge on the development side learning languages such as Ajax and strengthening my PHP and Javascript skills.

Education

In April 2007, I graduated from the Multimedia Design and Production Program at Fanshawe College. Through a lot of hard work and determination I earned a spot on the Dean's List for 4 consecutive terms of study, as well as a place on the Presidents Honor Roll. I am extremely proud of this personal achievement.

Social Media Knowledge

Some of my strongest skills include my ability to construct HTML/XHTML compliant sites by W3C Standards and cross platform usability passing HTML Tidy Standards. Building sites are more than just design and development... it is an experience that shouldn't break!
